FABIENNE WEBER
TEX'STYLE
The artist's approach is built around a direct and sensitive relationship with materials. Handmade paper, often recycled, constitutes her preferred medium, simultaneously surface and volume, trace and palimpsest. In this continuity, the artist also explores the potential of reused textiles chosen for their plastic, chromatic and memorial qualities.
Integrated into the composition, the textile fragments interact with ink, acrylic, graphite, watercolor, and pastel. They enrich the works with additional materiality, opening up new perspectives around the notions of fragility and transformation.

UMBO
Although conceived in the same spirit as the FERRUGINEUSES series, with which it shares the context and intention, Umbo * is distinguished by its medium: rope. As such, it also joins the TEX'STYLE series. A borderline work, it illustrates the porosity between the sets and the continuity of the same creative gesture.
*The umbo is the central metal piece of the shield, often its only excavated artifact.

As part of a joint exhibition with photographer Wielfried Beege* (1940? – 2024), who is used to capturing the fabrics of the greatest designers on the fashion catwalks, the dialogue takes on a unique dimension.
The photographic gaze captures the ephemeral gesture of sewing and movement; in counterpoint, Fabienne Weber's works explore the persistence of materials and their inscribed memory.
In the scenography, the fabrics magnified by the image and those recomposed by the artist respond to each other. Far from a simple contrast, it is a complicity that is established.
Together, they construct a common narrative: that of textiles as a universal language, capable of embodying both the ephemerality of fashion shows and the silent persistence of fragments.
*Wielfried Beege : His improbable career began as a cameraman for Rainer Werner Fassbinder, took him to Andy Warhol's Factory in New York and then to the catwalks of the greatest fashion shows. This was followed by a discreet but exceptional work as an art photographer in Offenburg.
